As far as placements are concerned, one can get placed in either
Government sector i.e Agriculture, Banking and more are recruiting graduates to fill up entry level posts.
Private Sector- Graduates may find jobs as Jr. Managers at Plantations, as Excecutives at Fertilizer Manufacturing firms, Agricultural Machinery Industries, Agricultural Products Marketing firms, Food processing units etc.
I am a day scholar so dont know about hostel.
Learning enriched environment You will get to learn through classroom sessions, seminars, expert talks, guest lectures and a lot more

Yes you might consider it, although it is a 5 year course but it is present only in 3 iits i.e. roorkee, kharagpur,varanasi. Architecture is relatively hectic but its worth it if you want to pursue in architecture which has immense opportunities
