UPSC consists of 3 levels
1) Prelims
2)Mains
3) Interview
In Prelims you just need to score the cutoff marks.
Coming to the mains and interview someone is required to score here only.
UPSC has nothing to do with stream but someone from commerce has strong basis of finance can choose optional accordingly but I have people take political science. Geography etc has option as they are also present in Prelims and mains you just need some expertise in it.

Hello Jayanth, it is very nice to SEE that after completion of your Diploma you are now interested in doing graduation in engineering in aeronautical branch. You have two options of doing this. Firstly you can seek admission in a lateral mode by taking admission in directly 2nd year of engineering colleges in your state. Alternatively you can appear for JEE Mains and then JEE Advanced and seek admission in one of the IIT. However I would like to advise you to think over it again. This is so because the job prospects of an aeronautical engineer are much less as compared with mechanical engineer or an engineer with any other branch. Henc

Yes, you can pursue LL.B. In English medium after completing your B.A. In Marathi medium. Many law colleges and universities offer LL.B. Courses in English medium. However, it is important to note that you should have a good understanding of the English language as it will be the medium of instruction and communication throughout the course.

Hello Divesh Sharma, you have raised the query on an issue where there will be as many choices as the number of people whom you ask. In addition the national ranking for the different colleges also comes into play but then it is of no use four years down the line when you will be passing out and hoping to get placed. My personal opinion is that in general NIT trichy would be a much better choiceonly for academics but also for placements. Best wishes to you.
