College ranking is certainly an important part of reputation, industry connections, and job placement opportunities. However, for a practical course such as Ophthalmic Technology, hospital tie-ups, experience in real-world clinical environments, and training facilities can be valued more highly than college ranking.

A mid-range college that has great training facilities may provide better real world experience than a top-tier college with limited experience.
