There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production. you can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematograph or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D vizualizations. you may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. you can get into production, whether live or animated. You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ pc game. you can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life. you could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance. you can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star. you can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world & hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. Dear Swapnil, If you say the fees of PGDM are higher, you need a base of comparison. If you compare it all the top private B-Schools around India, the fees of BIMTECH are on lesser side.
The average placement last year was 5.75 per annum, we are still waiting for the official figures of this year. So you can calculate the ROI.
But I would strongly suggest you not to make decisions on the basis of aspects like ROI. ROI is something like looking at amount of cream while buying a cake. But that doesn't click right ? What clicks is the totality of cake, right ? The same thing applies to the career decisions as well.
Firstly you need to ask yourself, why do you want to MBA ? If Yes, do you desperately wanna do it ? If Yes, are you ready to wait for 1 or 2 year, gather some more work experience, and then do MBA ? If No, then what other options do you have ?
When you come to MBA, it is not about the average package or even the brand value of the company that you are gonna get placed in, it is about your passion, it is about your interest.
So considering all the options, think deep, and then make your decision.
