The maximum reservation could be up to 50% for SC/ST/OBC categories. For EWS, additional 10% seats are reserved. Other than this, 5% of total seats are reserved for children of Service Personnel.

The selection process includes three stages. First stage is Design Aptitude Test. The applications start from October. Last date to apply is generally February last week. Application fee for same is INR 3,000. After exam is concluded, candidates are called for next stage. All selected applicants have to report to MIT Institute of Design campus in Pune. Next stage includes a Studio Test and Personal Interview. After conducting all stages, university releases final merit list of selected students.
