The eligibility criteria to apply to a Merit-cum-Need Scholarship at BITS Pilani is a high CGPA and a parental annual salary of less than INR 10 lakh. CGPA cut-off might change every semester. BITS Pilani gives two basic types of scholarships Merit Scholarship and Merit-cum-Need Scholarship. SVNIT Surat provides BTech in six areas viz. Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The selection in BTech programme at SVNIT Surat depends on the performance of the candidate in the JEE Main examination. Once the students have qualified, they will be required to undergo JoSAA counselling to get seats awarded. It is purely based on merit and based on reservation norms.

Depending on the scheme, students are required to apply through a portal such as the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or Digital Gujarat.
