The eligibility criteria to apply to a Merit-cum-Need Scholarship at BITS Pilani is a high CGPA and a parental annual salary of less than INR 10 lakh. CGPA cut-off might change every semester. The scholarship supports students belonging to a lower economic status, but who are academically bright too. The process of selection is competitive and is based on both merit and monetary background.

BITS Pilani gives two basic types of scholarships Merit Scholarship and Merit-cum-Need Scholarship. The Merit Scholarship depends only on CGPA of the student but the Merit-cum-Need Scholarship is dependent upon the annual income of the parents of the student. These scholarships waive 40% to 100 percent of tuition fee. To be eligible, students are required to go through their admissions.

NID Ahmedabad does not reveal any set cut-off score on DAT, but it depends on the major (specialisation) and category. As a rule, the better your score is, on both DAT Prelims and Mains, the better your chances are. The choice is made on the basis of meritorious ranking. Portfolio assessment and interview are also done to shortlisted candidates.

The selection in BTech programme at SVNIT Surat depends on the performance of the candidate in the JEE Main examination. Once the students have qualified, they will be required to undergo JoSAA counselling to get seats awarded. It is purely based on merit and based on reservation norms.

Depending on the scheme, students are required to apply through a portal such as the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or Digital Gujarat. Income and caste certificates as well as promoted certificates and academic records are some of the required documents. The dates of application are displayed on the official SVNIT site. The renewal applications need the continuation of academics and a resubmission of fresh documents.
