There is so many ways to do something in life. You have to figure it out. I know it's not a cup of tea. But, yes it's not that hard that you can't do. Take a pen and paper, write all the things you want to do. And, on second page write what you can leave. Considering the remaining ones, do a deep research about field study and scope. It will take time my friend, but I am sure you will never regret on your decision. So, do it very patiently, and try to talk and connect with persons who are already there in your field of interest.
