Generally, FMS cut off is around 97+ percentile in CAT. The candidates on the basis of FMS Cut Off have to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview before final selection. At the time of interview, candidate's academics, work experience, personality and overall suitability are the another factors considered in selection. All these parameters carry due weightage, apart from the performance in the CAT, which is used to decide the FMS cutoff score. So it is very important to remember that clearing the FMS Cut Off is not sufficient as there is a final hurdle to be crossed before admission. 4. Personal Interview- 15%

All NITS and IITs are the institutes of national importance. The functioning of NITK is governed by the NIT Act, 2007 and by the rules laid down by the Government of India from time to time. NITK is governed by the Board of Governors which consists of representatives of the Government of India, Government of Karnataka, Alumni, Industry and other bodies. The admission in all NITs are based on ranks obtained in JEE-Main (Conducted by NTA). The class 12th marks is another admission criteria for NITs and IITs, And the student must have secured a minimum 75% of marks or should be in the top 20 percentile in the respective board. Hence, you have to appear in the JEE-Main exam for admission.
