No, it is not possible to directly go for 2nd year in Diploma. In Diploma, class 10th marks is considered. You have to give their entrance exam to apply for the college.

There are different methods adopted by different states. Some give admission based on the marks obtained in Diploma exam while others give admission based on the entrance exam for lateral admission.
