You can choose any of the courses according to your interest. Mostly students prefer to do B.A. Hons from subjects which they want to choose as their optional subject in State Civil Services/ UPSC because it provide you good understanding of that paper. State Civil Services ask for only Graduation whether it is from any of the course.

Yes, you can change your stream from Science to art. But some University have marks deduction in changing stream especially in DU. But this year the varsity has decided to withdraw the policy of deducting 5 percent marks for students who changed their stream to apply for B.A. Courses.

There is a chance of getting Mechanical with your rank but not be sure about that as every year Statistics change. Try upto last round of counselling. Wish you luck.

You can find many rank predictors sites. Just google it. And manabadi is one site that can be trusted. But then, personal suggestion. Don't worry about the rank right now. Once the scores are out, you check for the expected college you may get using college predictors and Shiksha even provides college predictors and you can trust that. For now, if you aren't sure about getting into a better college, try applying for private university exams like VIT, SRM or such. There are many private institutes, I just named a few. Good luck.
