The Basic eligibility criteria to join Merchant Navy is:
Aspirant must have passed 12th class with physics, chemistry and maths as their main subject.
They must have completed their graduation in the field of Marine Engineering or Nautical Science to join the engineering or navigation fields in the merchant navy.

Dear Mr. Kabir,
Well selection criteria differs from company to company. For some company 50% is the criteria , for some companies its 60% or above.
Academic Excellence alone does not make a person a competent person in the working environment. Maybe they are using to filter, but this filter is filtering out otherwise able persons who scored less percentage. Drop outs have created history in the world!
So, dont worry go ahead with your plans.
