The National Eligibility Test (NET) to be conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi is scheduled to be held on June 29. The interested candidates can apply for the same before May 5.
The eligibility criteria are mentioned below:
The candidates are required to have score 55 per cent marks in Masters Degree.
The candidates who are in their final year of Masters programme or those whose examinations have been delayed can also apply. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be eligible after their results are declared and they obtain minimum 55 per cent marks in those exams.
The candidates who hold PhD degree and have completed their Masters degree before September 19, 1991 shall be provided with relaxation of marks up to 5 per cent.
NET/ SLET/ SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions. Though the candidates who are or have been awarded a PhD degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D degree) regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SLET/ SET.
Also, the candidates who have qualified the UGC/CSIR JRF examination prior to 1989 need not have to necessarily appear for NET.

After completing B.Tech you have 2 options:
1.To opt for a job.
2.To opt for further studies (MBA, M.Tech etc)
However the best and suitable option for you would be to work for 3-5 years after completing your B.Tech and then opt for further studies.
The advantage of this step would be:
You will gain relevant work experience.
After working you will know which course to pursue that can further enhance your career prospects, i.e. if you wish to build your career in technical field, then you may pursue M.Tech, whereas if you are interested in management then you may pursue MBA.
After working for few years you will know which specialization to opt in MBA that can further enhance your career prospects. However asper your educational profile you may consider pursuing:
1. MBA in General Management.
2. MBA in Construction Management.
3. MBA in Infrastructure Management.
Candidates with work experience will have competitive advantage over other candidates with no work experience during MBA admission.
This work experience of yours will also be an added advantage for you during campus recruitment in MBA, as most companies would surely prefer an experience candidates over a fresher for a job.
Finally if you work for some years then you may yourself manage the expenses for your further studies.
I would suggest that before taking any step you must first decide what is best for your career and accordingly you may opt for further studies or gain work experience.
