As required by the Medical Council of India, direct admission to Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences' MBBS programme is not possible without qualifying NEET-UG. The official NEET + MCC counselling process is used to assign seats. NEET qualification is still required even for these medications, even though KIIT reserves limited management and NRI quota seats, which some refer to as "direct admission."

The required internship for MBBS students pays a comparatively high INR 25,000 to INR 35,000 per month. The majority of MBBS graduates earn between INR 5.5 and INR 8 LPA as junior residents.
