This is so that enough support is provided to the new branch to stand on its own. However the degree invariably is given of the branch in which the student has taken admission. In your case you will get degree in branch of PIE only.

Since you want to change your field, so I would recommend you to learn programming languages and subjects like Operating System, Data Structure and Algorithm, Computer Networks, etc. If you pursue BCA, then it would be better.
