Candidates aspiring to join MBA / M.Sc (CA) / M.Sc (SS) programmes offered by institutes of Symbiosis International University have to take the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Online Test . A candidate needs to register for SNAP Test & also register for the institutes offering his/ her choice of programmes by paying separate programmes registration fees. If shortlisted, he/she would then need to attend the GE-PIWAT process conducted by each of these institutes individually.
Eligibility criteria to seek admission in Symbiosis University is as follows: "Candidate should be a graduate from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level. Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination". MBA by distance learning are created specifically for professionals with work experience. MBA by distance learning provides students with the same foundation in key management concepts and disciplines as in a two-year full-time MBA. MBA course work is build on the basis of that students will have diverse and extensive work experience by virtue of which they will able to related to management theories and concepts. Mode of delivery of the programs can be web based lectures, video conferencing, correspondence material, weekend classes or combination of onsite and other means of delivery of learning. Major difference in delivery of MBA by distance learning and full-time MBA is pedagogy. Full time MBA are taught by extensive case studies and group work whereas Part-time MBA has more of lectures. Full Time MBA students have easy access to teachers and fellow students for discussion leading to better learning. Full Time MBA provides environment for overall development of student. Full time MBA are able to avail campus placement facility which is missing in MBA by distance learning. MBA Distance learning is mainly by lectures, self study of course material and assignments. Students do not have opportunity to interact with teachers and fellow students. Absence of case studies, presentations etc are big handicap of MBA by distance learning. Scope of MBA regular is higher in comparison to EMBA and MBA by distance learning.
