Hey,

Getting into Institute of Science and technology ( IST) is moderately easy as compared to top tier government colleges like IITs and there are various aspects to consider this notion. The most prominent one is completion level which is considered moderate as only regional student ( most probably of west bengal or nearby states) are there. Cutoffs are quite relaxed and even the eligibility for 10+2 is only 45%. Moreover good number of seats are available and direct admission is also possible. So if you give your 100%, admission in this institute would be quite easy for you.

Wishing you all the best!

Hey,

IST primarily give admission to students based on their entrance examination ranks. However direct admission provisions are their under two categories. One of them is management quota where students typically need to meet the basic eligibility criteria,   after that merit list and availability of seats plays a role to decide who will get the seat. Another category is NRI/Foreign students, for whom IST provides limited number of seats.

Hope this helps!
