Instrumentation engineering: It is the branch of engineering that specialises on the principle and operation of measuring instruments that are used in fields of design, configuration of automated systems in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic. Instrumentation engineers can work in a number of fields including manufacturing, defense, biomedicine, and government. If you are talking only about placements (average of the packages), EnI is better than Mech in Pilani but it is not a factor I would consider to compare any two courses. Both the courses are equally good and there are ample of opportunities in both. The only thing which matters is where your interest lies in. All the best.
