There is lots of difference between the IIM and other B schools. Some of them are, IIMs are the premier institutes of the country so maximum number of placements will occur in all the top companies of the software and banking sectors.
1. In the IIMs there will be top class lecturers from the PhD degree holders from various good national and international university.

The diploma will generally act as fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

You need to be clear about your future plans if you are serious about persuing post graduation course.
If you aim to excel in any specific subject of finance area(Example:Commodity trading, portfolio management, Wealth management, Fund Management) you can go for MBA institutes which are good in that.
An advice:Don't go for distance learning programs if you want your degree (Especially,for post graduation course) to be valued.
