No, there is no sectional weightage in the NEST 2024 exam. All four sections (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics) carry equal weightage of 50 marks each.

No, there are no optional subjects in the NEST exam. The exam consists of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. You are tested on all four of these subjects, but only the scores from your best three sections are counted towards your final result. Although there are no optional subjects, it is advisable to at least attempt questions from all four sections. This is because the cut-off for each section is based on a proportion of the top scores in that section. So, if you perform well in one section, it can help to compensate for a lower score in another section.

For admission to PG Diploma programmes at Madras University, aspirants need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. The minimum eligibility requirement is a UG Diploma/Bachelor or equivalent degree from this University or from any other university recognised as equivalent thereto. Further, the selection is done on the basis of aspirants’ scores in the last qualifying examination.
