The admission is not based on the overall score, whereas, it is based on the cut-off marks out of 200 in PCM. Your cut-off needs to be at least 195 and above so that you can get B.Tech IT at MIT-Chennai.

I am glad that you are thinking to join one of the best college (i.e) PUMBA. You should try to score more than 450 marks to get admission in PUMBA although the cut-off varies every year.

After your Mains rank comes out, they will start shortlisting student out of those who have applied on the basis of their marks and ranking. If you are lucky enough you'll be able to make it into that list and if not, then I am sorry but you cant go into that college.

You must apply for CAT exam, the form for which is online and can be filled on the official CAT website once live. After appearing for the exam, you will get a percentile score which will then be screened by IIM-A and other colleges.
