B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering graduates from SASTRA University can work in various roles such as:

• Core companies: Caterpillar, JSW, TVS, L&T, Schneider electric, Saint Goban, Hitachi, LTTS, TATA Power, Ashok Leyland, Switch mobility, Breakes India, Turbo Energy, Lucas TVS
• IT Companies: TCS (Ninja, Digital), Cognizant, Deloitte, Mindtree, Psiog, Mathco, Capgemini
• Non-Tech: Amazon (intern-operations manager, project manager, Business analyst roles), Federal Bank, City Union Bank
• Product based Software companies: Zoho

The package ranges from 2.4 LPA to 12 LPA.

Core companies mentioned above recruit very few students, mostly single-digit.

Few core companies and many IT companies visited but people who landed in core jobs are quite less as many of the companies further rounds didn't take place after Online Test.

The batch size was around 256 for B.Tech Mechanical 2020 batch.

Some of the students opted for higher studies and the placement process for the rest is going on.

Most core companies look for diversity hiring. Since there are very few women studying Mechanical Engineering, almost all female students got placed in core companies with good packages.

For securing good packages, first, you need to be eligible for any company which can be possible only if you have a good CGPA (>8.5, though most companies set >7 as eligibility it is safer to have a good CGPA as there is tough competition the better your CGPA the better your chances) and no history of arrears.

B.Sc.
