The Law Department at LPU holds a significant place as one of the earliest departments to be established during the university's formative years. In accordance with the NIRF ranking, the Law School is currently ranked 24th in India. The school's vision goes beyond traditional book-based learning, emphasizing that studying by books alone does not define the essence of Law.

The primary goal of the Law programme is to equip students with a blend of legal education and social sciences, focusing on benefiting society. It aims to cultivate a cadre of well-trained and committed legal professionals who can effectively navigate the legal framework. The programme also emphasizes developing a comprehensive understanding of various facets of law, including civil, criminal, taxation, and international laws, to prepare students for careers in judicial services.

Students in the Law School are trained to identify legal issues within hypothetical scenarios and analyze the potential legal consequences, thus honing their skills to become adept legal professionals. All courses offered by the Law School are approved by the Bar Council of India.

The Law School at Lovely Professional University has been recognised by the Career guidance magazine Higher Education Review as one of the top-ten most promising institutions in India for its ability to produce the next generation of legal professionals.

Furthermore, LPU has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore, fostering academic collaborations.

In terms of placements, the highest salary package offered last year was 9 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum). Several renowned companies and law firms, including Tech Mahindra, Areness Attorneys, Decathlon Sports, and many others, have recruited graduates from the Law School at LPU, reflecting the school's commitment to providing opportunities for its students in the legal field.
