first of all I would like to inform you what Exactly UGC and AICTE is, The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India is a statutory organisation set up by the Union government in 1956, charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education. It provides recognition to universities in India, and disburses funds to such recognized universities. The Approval or the Affiliation from UGC is ,mainly for the Universities which has many colleges under one head.
for Ex. Gujarat University is UGC affiliated.
If I put more Pressure on the Approval or the Affiliation of my College Shanti Business School then I can Proudly say that my College is AICTE Approved, where AICTE stands for All India Council Of Technical Education.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. Established in November 1945 first as an advisory body and later on in 1987 given statutory status by an Act of Parliament, AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India. The AICTE accredits postgraduate and graduate programs under specific categories at Indian Institutes.
So for any college or B-school we need AICTE approval and For universities you need UGC approval
