UPSC examination is conducted every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS, IPS, IFS officers are recruited.
To be eligible :
- You need to pass graduation in any field from any recognized university.
- You are eligible if you are in the final year of graduation.
- Your age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.
- You must be an Indian citizen.

To crack the exam, the preparation requires the right approach along with the right study materials and strategy.

It just depends on you only to opt out a suitable branch. All you need is to clear your goals. If you want to try for civil services like IES or work in PSUs then you should choose mechanical as it is a core branch and it would be easy there to choose your subjects in exam but if you want to work in field of softwares then you should select computer sciences. Regarding jobs, both branches can provide you various good jobs. In Mech you can join PSUs like IOCL, Power Grid and many students(Core Branch) have 2 jobs in their hand one from their field and other from IT sector as some colleges allow only for 2 jobs during placement and one from IT sector cumpolsary. In CS you will be getting jobs from IT sector companies and dream jobs like in GOOGLE, MICROSOFT and others which you know are increasing with time so it ensures you with jobs before you move out of college.

The entrance test (Communication Aptitude Test - CAPTEST) and interview for the MA programme are ongoing. You are required to send in the filled-in application form immediately through speed post/courier.
You are eligible for our entrance exam ( CAPTEST) as soon as we receive your filled in application. We will inform you about the date of test and interview through email and phone.
We have an online (Skype enabled) test option for students outside Tamil Nadu and Kerala for the. You are required to mention if you are opting for this on top of the application form and also mention your skype ID. You will require a web camera for the interview

The MA CAPTEST will include writing skills, GK and general aptitude tests followed by group discussion and interview. Those who have 70% marks in their undergraduate programme are exempt form the written test, but have to attend the interview and Group Discussion. Applicants are requested to fill in applications and send it to us as early as possible.
Dates for the MA CAPTEST will be announced for candidates as and when their applications are received.

For admission to part time PhD, admission will be on the basis of written test and interview.

1.0 SELECTION
1.1 Written Test on 7th July, 2013
1.2 Students who are able to clear the test will be called for Interview.
1.3 Selection on the basis of Performance in Interview. (Interview around 20th July, detailed schedule after result of written test).
1.4 Exemption in written Test
1.4.1 For Indian Applicants: Applicants who qualify UGC(JRF)/CSIR(JRF)/ICAR(JRF/SRF) Examination/SLET/GATE/GPAT/ICAR hold Teacher Fellowship are exempted from Ph.D entrance test.
1.4.2 For International Applicants: Applicants holding UGC(JRF) Teacher Fellowship are exempted from Ph.D. entrance test.
