TV Cameramen work in the studio or on the scene of a news story.
The work involves both live broadcasts and recorded video that is edited into segments for later broadcast.
Not only are cameramen required to compose the video shots and makes sure the lighting and sound is correct, but they may also edit the footage they have captured into an effective visual news article.
Requirements:
For aspiring TV cameramen, experience in the field is often more highly requested by employers than a formal education.
Some positions require the cameraman to be proficient in specific skills, such as editing footage or operating mobile satellite equipment for live, on-scene transmissions of news reports.
Generally, a high school diploma is mandatory, but some employers prefer their cameramen to have a bachelor's degree in a journalism and photography-related field.
