Generally, candidates join lateral B.Tech course after completing diploma in any engineering field to get direct entry into the second year. Degree course will open more opportunities for you.
* Eligibility Criteria for Lateral B.Tech course :
You need to score minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the diploma course. You need to sit for Lateral Entry Entrance Test or LEET which is conducted at state level. Some colleges and Universities too conduct their own lateral entry tests.

As per your query it seems that you have one arrear in B.Tech and which is not cleared yet, and further you wish to get admission in MBA program.
So as per your profile it is not possible for you to get admission in MBA program unless you clear all your arrears.
So I would suggest you to clear your arrear as soon as possible so that you may get admission in MBA program.
Please note that in order to pursue full time MBA or PGDM program you need to be graduate in any field with atleast 50% marks in graduation, plus you need to take various management entrance test like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, etc.
