Entrance exams are different in different colleges and universities even if subject is same. Hence I would have been able to advise better only if you had mentioned name of entrance test. Be that as it may, if you google for sample or previous year's question paper, I feel you will get your answer.

Its great to know your desire to pursue graduation after diploma. Yes, normally mechanical branch diploma holders are allowed lateral entry into aeronautical branch. You just need to follow steps required to be taken. That's all. However i would like to advise that opportunities in aeronautical branch in India are very less as compared with mechanical and hence you should obtain degree in mechanical branch .
