Hi,
The B.Com. programme provides a good knowledge base for a range of careers. These are broadly of two types:
Those in business and finance such as CA, company secretaryship, cost and works accountants, banking and so on.
Others, including or related to finance, law. mass communication, hotel management, civil services, etc.
A commerce education can lead to jobs with corporations and banks as investment bankers, managers, financial consultants, accountants, advisers etc.
Accountancy is key in this field and if you are good with numbers, you can excel. Even if you have not cleared the IPCC. you can still get into finance-related careers t

All the branches are good.It depends on your interest and skills whichever field you choose. As a matter of fact Mechanical is the most evergreen branch. Its important to pursue your engg from a reputed college because it will provide you a good placement.Similarly if you pursue your engg from a C grade college then no matter what branch you choose and how brilliant you are you will not get a campus placement and you will struggle to get a job through off-campus recruitment
