Studying Occupational Therapy typically requires a background in Science, particularly in subjects like Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, due to the nature of the coursework, which includes anatomy, physiology, and medical sciences.

Mathematics is generally not a core requirement, but a solid understanding of Science is essential for grasping the fundamental concepts of therapy and patient care.

If you did not study these subjects in high school, it may be challenging to meet the admission requirements for a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) course.

No, joining a Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) course after completing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) is generally not possible because the two fields, while related, have distinct educational paths and focus areas. MPT programs are designed for students who have completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), as the curriculum builds on the knowledge and skills specific to physiotherapy.

After completing a degree in Occupational Therapy, becoming a doctor in the traditional sense, such as an MBBS or MD, requires starting a new medical education pathway.

A degree in Occupational Therapy does not qualify you to practice as a doctor, as it focuses on rehabilitation and therapy rather than medicine and surgery.

However, if you wish to pursue a medical degree, you would need to meet the eligibility criteria, including clearing the NEET exam, and then complete an MBBS programme followed by specialisation if desired.

No a BOT graduate is not a medical doctor (like an MD or MBBS).

They are highly trained allied healthcare professionals who act as occupational therapists and help patients get functional independence in daily activities again. They work with doctors but cannot prescribe medicine or perform surgery.
