B.tech - stands for bachelor of Technology. Eligibility required - 12th with maths & science/ Diploma.

Both institutes are good, but be sure to decide where you would be comfortable, chennai has good options, but first enquire with the current students of both the institutes and then take an informed decision.

College name matters, for placements and further growth, but if you want to study in a specific branch, then specific college should not matter, but my opinion go for better college than branch, as it is too early in life to decide the branch.

EDPTI and chemical engineering are both good programs but job opportunities are lesser as compare to other engineering course such as civil, mechanical, computers, electronics. Beside only these two institutes also keep track of other top institutes of India such as COEP, MIT, Lovely professional University.
