As an entry level Staff Nurse in a government hospital or public sector corporation, you will be recruited in the scale of Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200/- in the Pay band 3. Your total salary as on 01/01/2016 will be minimum 38000 and ranges up to Rs. 45000 depending on the city and whether you are receiving house accommodation. In this category, salary growth will be at par with government increments and pay revision. There is no difference between B.Sc nursing and GNM in government hospitals with regard to salary or increment.
If you take up a job as a nursing tutor or instructor in a nursing college or school immediately after passing B.Sc or M.Sc nursing, you'll only be receiving a salary of approximately 15,000 to 25,000. Once you increase your academic qualifications (like completing an M.Sc or a PhD you'll be able to apply for a managerial or executive level position and enhance your scope of earning a lucrative pay packet.
