Getting admission to an NIT with 79% marks in Class 12 depends on your JEE Main percentile, category, and home state quota — not just board marks.
Here’s an easy clarification:
79% in Class 12 makes you eligible for NIT admission (you need minimum 75% for General/EWS or pinnacle 20 percentile in some cases).
But the actual admission relies upon your JEE Main percentile and rank.
If your JEE percentile is above eighty five and also you belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS, you may get a seat in lesser NITs like:
- NIT Mizoram
- NIT Sikkim
- NIT Nagaland
- NIT Meghalaya
- NIT Arunachal Pradesh
