Ph.D. is different from UG & PG in the sense that a candidate has to perform simulation and experimentation mandatorily therefore correspondence is ruled out. Part time can be done and it means that you will not receive stipend, you do not have to be in the institute for minimum 32 hours per week and you are not required to teach for minimum 8 hours per week. But beside this, all other conditions remain same which include Credit course for 4-5 months and passing through the exam, presentations, simulation & experimentation, RDC and pre-thesis presentations.
IITs and no global top institutes provide part time Ph.D.
