You can crack NSD if you really have the will and passion to be a part of it. You should have a good practical experience in Theater. Be it performing in different plays, working with different kind of directors, work at as different places with different people . That will enhance your experience in a way. NSD specifically mentions that you need to have performed at least 6 theater plays in order to be eligible to apply for the said course. They conduct an audition as a qualifying test. A written exam is also conducted for which you must should be aware of theater's history. You can buy books from market for this and also refer to the

Acting schools are mostly expensive only. Even a short term course of 3 months might cost you around 60-70K at least. You can rather get associated with some theater group and learn the skills of acting from them. Joining a theater group will not be a cheaper option but will also enhance your skills as a whole.
