The single most popular specializations amongst MBA graduates in India, Marketing is a hard-core front-end job and is meant for leaders. MBA Marketing is very dynamic and competitive. You need excellent communication skills, resource mobilization skills and an undying zeal to excel to make it to the top-level positions in the field of sales and marketing.
Marketing in its broadest sense is getting people and products together. The opportunities in Sales and marketing are vast. However most organizations prefer their trainees to have sales experience before joining product management/ marketing.
The companies that recruit on campus are usually from industries such as:
FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods): Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Glaxo-Smith Kline, Pepsi, Nestle, Johnson and Johnson, Marico, Heinz, etc.
Consumer Durables: BPL, Blowplast, Godrej and Boyce, Maruti Udyog Ltd, Whirlpool etc.
Also there is a huge demand for sales and marketing personnel from Market divisions in corporate houses, Market research firms, advertising agencies, industrial houses, consultancy firms, banks, financial institutions, government/non-government organisations offer employment scope to marketing professionals.
After doing MBA Marketing, one can go for research related jobs or even Ph.D programmes. If one wants to become a teacher in a college or University, the best option is to do a Ph.D level programme. There are numerous universities in India and abroad who conduct Ph.D programmes.
The teaching faculty members in reputed institutes are given excellent salaries and pay structures apart from a good career growth. Most of the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) conduct a Post Doctoral and a Fellowship Programme in Management.

Here is the list of some certification courses which you can opt after completing your Bachelors in engineering to find job more easily:
Java/J2EE - The server side software development of web is mostly done by this most secure language option. Most of the banks in India and abroad implement their web applications using Java/J2EE only.
.NET - This is among most popular languages which are direct counterparts of Java. These are mainly used for light weight application development on the server side and client side. .NET is also easy to master compared to the long Java Library.
The other options for the courses include, i am listing most prominent ones from job point of view:
Oracle/Mysql/DB2/DBA - This is one of the most reliable course options but you will not get any work of software development on its basis, yet you can continue doing it if you have interest in DBMS.
CCNA/MCSE - These networking certifications can employ you as a network engineer and again even in the recession period these were the most reliable career options, if not most exciting.
Between java & .NET i would suggest .NET and you being from ECE branch, Networking courses like CCNA should be easier for you.
