According to different unofficial sources, Oxford University acceptance rate is around 17%, but as per the Oxford admission report of 2022, the University of Oxford acceptance rate is around 14% for undergraduate admission and 17% for graduate admission. The high acceptance rate at Oxfrod makes admission very competitive for international students.

In reference to graduate studies, the University of Oxford has mentioned that since that admission is very competitive, the admission requirements vary between programs, but in general, the academic departments look for students with the ability, curiosity, enthusiasm, and commitment required to pursue higher-level study there. Oxford University is committed to admitting students from all backgrounds and identities. 

You must perform very well academically and fulfil the prerequisites for your chosen subject in order to be admitted to the University of Oxford. Selecting a programme and going over its requirements, such as grades, standardised test results (SAT, ACT, or similar), and English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL), should be your first step. Apply online using UCAS and include a personal statement outlining your accomplishments, objectives, and areas of interest. Add compelling recommendation letters from mentors or instructors. Admission tests (such the LNAT and MAT) or written work samples are required for many courses. You will be asked to an interview to evaluate your critical thinking and subject knowledge if you make the short list. To increase your chances, be well-prepared, adhere to deadlines, and show that you are genuinely passionate about your area.

Undergraduate Admission

All those Indian students who have a Class 12 qualification, studied with either the CBSE or CISCE boards are accepted, provided they have the following grades:

Undergraduate Qualifications

If the graduate course at the University of Oxford requires a strong upper-second class undergraduate degree with honors in the UK system, the applicants must have either one of the below-given qualifications:

• A professional bachelor’s degree (4 years) from a recognised institution with an overall grade of 60% for degrees granted by prestigious institutes (Example: Institutions of National Importance), or 70% for degrees awarded by other institutes; or a cumulative GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0; 5.0 out of 7.0; 6.0 out of 8.0 or 8.0 out of 10.0
• A standard bachelor’s degree (3 years) from a recognised institute with an overall grade of 65% for degrees awarded by prestigious institutes (Example: Institutions of National Importance), or 70% for degrees awarded by other institutes

Also, master’s degree holders from non-recognized institutes will also be eligible

If the graduate course at Oxford University requires a first-class undergraduate degree with honors in the UK system, the applicants must have either one of the below-given qualifications:

• A professional bachelor’s degree (4 years) from a recognised institution with an overall grade of 65% for degrees granted by prestigious institutes (Example: Institutions of National Importance), or 75% for degrees awarded by other institutes; or CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.0; 5.5 out of 7.0; 6.5 out of 8.0 or 8.5 out of 10.0
• A standard bachelor’s degree (3 years) from a recognised institute with an overall grade of 70% for degrees awarded by prestigious institutes (Example: Institutions of National Importance), or 75% for degrees awarded by other institutes

Master’s qualifications

If the graduate course at the University of Oxford requires a master’s degree in the UK system, then the applicants should have a master’s degree awarded by a recognised institute with an overall grade corresponding to the following:

• 55% for a pass grade in the UK system
• 60% for a merit grade in the UK system
• 70% for a distinction grade in the UK system

Islamic University of Science and Technology has released the merit lists for both UG and PG courses in the form of notifications on the official website. The merit list contains the form numbers of candidates who have been selected for further process of admission for UG courses through CUET scores as well as for PG courses offered through CUET PG. Candidates can check their admission status by cross checking their form numbers. Mationed below is step- by step process to check the IUST merit lists 2023: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of IUST at iust.ac.in. 

Step 2: Scroll down to notifications and click on the admissions tab.

Step 3: As the list of notifications appear, select the UG or PG merit list.

Step 4: Click on the selected notification.

Step 5: On the next page, the PDF will open. 

Step 6: Cross check the form number to know the admission status.

On Aug 21, Islamic University of Science and Technology has released the list of form numbers of candidates who have been selected for further process of admission for PG courses through CUET PG scores. The university offers MBA, MBA International Business, MSc, MCA, M.Tech and MA at the PG level.

All the selected candidates whose form numbers are mentioned in the list must report to the Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs, IUST Campus Awantipora by Aug 28 (except on Saturday and Sunday) along with the application form/ original documents/ copies thereof and requisite fee for completion of admission formalities. In case of failure to report at within the stipulated time, the seat will be allotted to the next candidate in order of merit and preference.

The results will be declared on March 21, 2025 on the JAM 2024 website. For each Test Paper, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all candidates based on their performance.
Tie-Breaking: The tie-breaking criteria for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a Test Paper will be as follows:
Positive-to-negative marks ratio, followed by NAT marks, and then MSQ marks. Subsequently, if there is a tie, then DOB would be used, where, the older candidate gets better rank.

For each Test Paper, an All India Merit list will be prepared based on AIR. The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in each category (GEN/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ SC/ ST/ PwD) in a given subject.
