You can apply for the same only when you will be in the final year or after clearing LL.B. If you are so much desperate to appear the exam you should start your full-fledged preparation now so that you could qualify the exam as early as possible. PCS exams need very determined preparation and it ideally takes 2 years preparation at least. So, start your preparation now. You should go ahead by starting from general studies and when after sometime start the optional subjects and remaining papers. There are certain universities offering three year LL.B. Course after graduation, topmost being Delhi University (DULLB entrance):
Mumbai University MHCET Law entrance)
Banaras Hindu University (BHU law entrance)
Panjab University (PU law entrance)
O. P. Jindal Global Law School (ISAT)
Symbiosis University (Set law through which after filling form one has to go for WA PI as there is no entrance exam for 3 year law). All the universities have their separate exams. Mostly, you need to focus on static and current gk for which you can buy this book called 'Lucents General knowledge'. As regards legal reasoning and knowledge is concerned, you can buy either of the two books named 'Universal guide to LL.B. Entrance' and 'S. Guide to LL.B. Entrance'. These two books cover your basic legal, logical reasoning and English part. Both English and LR are not of much weightage in LL.B. Entrances, neither is maths. Some exams don't even have maths. I suggest you go through these two books thoroughly and you can also join any test series which are offered by various institutions across India. That will help you practice.

Since I have cleared all the 3 for my joining procedure I would like to tell you step by step:
The day when you have been called, you will be asked to report to a class room (room number will be mentioned in the notice board in front with your application number).
There will be around 1015 students who will be reporting to the same class as yours. There will be 2 faculty members (evaluators) joining each class room with a stop watch and bell in their hand. For the group discussion, they will give a current topic to the group (which will be simple if you know the current affairs, you might get the question from UP elections if my guess is right. We got the question about Kejriwal during our GD).
You will be marked based on your input to the group, the time taken by the group to conclude, your communication. (Each candidate will be marked, you will be sitting behind your application number sticker).
The marks won't be revealed after the GD:
The next round will be micro presentation. From the list of 75 topics each one will be given a topic in random. You will give 45 seconds for the preparation. Be bold, clear and try to reach a conclusion in your topic within that presentation. You will be checked for your communication skills, grammar, clarity in your thoughts
Again you will be marked and the applicants will be asked to leave
You will come to know the result within few days. You will be called for the personal interview only if you are selected
Personal interview will be just a 5 min interview where they will ask about yourself and why do you want to join this course and college. If you are good at your communication with a good CV your PI will be a cake walk. All the best.
