Primary reasons for rejection of the French student visa fall into these main categories - 

  1. having insufficient funds for living expenses - students must rather have a steady amount for at least 3 to 6 months in their bank account
  2. From your studies' point of view, you may face rejection if - you have undefined gaps in your education/career, if you apply for a course that does not align with or is completely differnt from what you were studying in your previous school/college and last - having weak SOPs.

Yes - the field of study you choose can become one of the major reasons for receiving a rejection on your French student visa application. The visa authorities assess your profile on the basis of your study experience, work experience and Letter of recommendations and if they find that the course or major you choose to study in France is highly irrelevant to your previous qualifications, then they might give you a rejection on your visa aaplication.

NEU Boston co-op programme allows students to take classes and work in alternate semesters. The programme allows students to step away from classroom to work full-time in a paid role for 4 to 8 months.

This does increase the overall programme duration. However, students also able to gain professional experience by graduation.
