UPSC exams are very tough and require a lot of hard work and dedication. It is not so that you will require a safe career as a back support but yes to be eligible for the Civil Services, you will require to be a graduate degree holder from a recognized University.
Being a graduate the minimum eligibility will help you in future as well even if you couldn't make it through the UPSC exams as this is the base of education on which you can pursue higher education.
More than anything else, i would advise you to be confident on you hard work and start preparing for the UPSC exams keeping marginal time in hand so that you are able to analyze how to go about it and observe your weak and strong areas and can develop those as well.

I understand that you might have been embarrassed due to a not-so-good performance in one academic year and you are too concerned about it's impact on your future. However, I would suggest you to continue with the course, rather than giving it up. You can go for tuition to understand the engineering concepts in a better way or consult any friend of yours who has a good understanding of the subject. I have a number of reasons to support my statement. They are as follows:
1. Academic performance cannot be smooth for every individual. Even the interviewers understand that. All they look is how fast a learner you are and how quickly can you recover from your fall. My own life is an example for the same. Even I didn't score good till my second year, my performance in the third and fourth year was enough to get me a job at Infosys.
2. Most of the colleges take your mark sheets till your higher secondary exams and return them only at the completion of degree or by paying the fess of the entire four years. Therefore, paying the entire money for the course without completing it will be a significant wastage of money.
3. University issues a NFTE (Not Fit for Technical Education) certificate if you leave a course in between, following which, you can never enrol in any technical course anywhere. I would suggest you not to let this black mark cling to your career.
4. The reason to leave a course midway will surely be asked during interviews and probably, no convincing answer will be available. So, this can adversely affect your placements.
So, pull up your socks, fight back and save your future. Everything will be fine. Be patient and determined. Rest is your choice. All the Best !

In order to pursue full time MBA or PGDM program you need:
Graduation in any field with at least 50% aggregate marks to be eligible to apply.Then, you need to clear the selection process of the B-school, starting with an entrance test accepted by the B-School. For e.g. CAT, MAT, SNAP, CMAT.
