Yes, it is right to pursue a CS branch in any IIIT rather than a core branch in DTU/NSUT/NIT until and unless you are interested in any of the core branches as I am more interested in Industrial engineering so I've chosen it over any other branch.

Yes, there are 50% seats reserved for the state board quota (filled by ACPC which is the admission committee for professional courses in Gujarat), and the remaining 50% seats will be filled directly through your score in the jee examination every year. I am happy to see you at Ahmedabad University which is teaching you project-based learning.
