National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati, established in 2008, is the first educational institution specializing in pharmaceutical Science at the national level. It is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). As its Ranked 12th For Pharmacy By NIRF 2023. Its placement rate is also good and the average package for year 2022 is INR 4.5LPA.

The  Placement 2023 report from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati has not yet been published. However, according to the NIPER Guwahati  report from 2022, 65 M.Pharm students in total were placed during the placement drive from 2021 - 2022. The average salary provided to M.Pharm students was INR 4.50 LPA. It has been noticed that each yeare the placement rate is increasing.

Admission to M.S., M.Pharma, M.Tech, M.B.A., and Ph.D. programs is offered by the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research SAS Nagar. Candidates must take the NIPER JEE entrance test and receive a passing mark in order to be admitted to the NIPER Mohali PG programs. Candidates must pass the NIPER JEE and then the interview in order to be admitted to the NIPER Mohali Ph.D programs. The number of students enrolled in PG programmes ranges from 42 to 152. There are four seats available for the NIPER Mohali Ph.D. program.
