Hello Tanya,
I can understand your angst. Unfortunately, presently it's only in medical and dental, a single all India test has been mandated called NEET. This happened in spite of spirited opposition by private colleges / Deemed Universities and some states as well. But, luckily for all aspirants and their parent's tensions and pain of appearing for large number of entrance exams is now a thing of past. Let's hope this happens for engineering admissions too.

If you are a 3 year Diploma holder i.e. have done GDMM from IIMM (material management) then it is equivalent to degree and such people are eligible for government graduate posts only.
