It's unfortunate that you have failed in 3 subjects. As per CBSE guidelines, a compartment in 3 subjects is considered overall fail and one has to re-appear for the same class again.
However, in case of universities, the guideline varies for different university. Hence, you need to contact the institute officials personally for specific details as it differs from one college to another.
