It is not important that every 12th passing student goes for engineering or medical. Now a days job in engineering is really less jobs as if a student is unable to get good college then it is really difficult for them to get job in future. As you said your son is interested in story writing and film making and if you see he would really do better in this field then there are many course for film making such as B.Sc. In VFX, B.Sc.
