NIIT University is a well recognised University under section 2 (f) of the UGC and is notified by the government. Of Rajasthan u/a 5 of 2010. It is listed on the UGC website as well so, therefore, there is no question of it being a fraud. Coming to their MBA, well my cousin studies there and he is very much satisfied with his choice. He is doing his specialisation in Digital Marketing which is an emerging field and there are hardly any institutions that offer a dedicated specialisation in it. Along with this they even offer specialisation in Banking, E-commerce, Business Analytics and Technology Management along with usual Marketing, Finance and HR specialisations. Brilliant students are recognised here and some of my cousin's friends have been offered a scholarship, upfront by the University. Wonder how many institutions do that!
