Try to get in any of the government college for hotel management rather then private colleges like in 'IHM'. There are various IHM in various city search in internet the fees also will be less and value will be more as compared to private institutes. in pvt. coleges you will be charged like 4 to 5 lakhs approx , in IHM or other govt. colleges 2 lakhs approx , for govt. hotel mgt. colleges they take entrance test you have to qualify that, private colleges also take entrance but just its show off but i will pursuade you to first appear for entrance for govt. colleges like IHM , its not tough just prepare a bit. Apart from that you have always chance to get in private colleges of hotel management, i am a hotel graduate, passed out in 2009 kolkata, now i feel its all show off in private schools and just business, so i will recommend you govt. colleges go for entrance test and i know you can clear it. If choosing private college then try to go to metropolitan cities leaving kolkata aside. Because u will get better exposure and placements too. While choosing private college try to personally visit colleges and during lunch time you can ask to the students of that college whom you think will give you better answer about college and you can judge easily. some good college in kolkata i know are IHM (govt.), IIHM (PVT.), IAM (PVT.).
