To apply for M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi, you can download the application form from the IIT Delhi website or collect a paper application form from the PGS&R Section. Fill the form and attach a draft for Rs 300 made payable to the "Registrar, IIT Delhi" at New Delhi. You should have a 4-year B.Tech./B.E. degree in any engineering discipline or a MSc./MCA degree in a computer-science related area, and have an excellent academic record. You will be called for a test and interview based on your application. The written test is technical and objective, and will test your familiarity with basic computer Science subjects.

The normal duration of the Master’s programmes is 4 semesters for full-time students and 6 semesters for part-time students. Classes are conducted at the usual times on weekdays. Approximately a third of the M Tech credits are project credits.

Please note that part-time students must be working in an industry or organisation involved in computer Science research/teaching and located within 50 kms of IIT Delhi. They are not eligible for hostel accommodation or an assistantship from Institute sources.

Foreign students may apply for this programme at any time of year, and do not need to apply on the application form. They may apply either through their embassies, or through a scholarship/fellowship scheme such as the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) or Asian Development Bank (ADB), or as self-financing student.

2. Fill the form: Fill the application form and attach a draft for Rs 300 made payable to the "Registrar, IIT Delhi" at New Delhi.


3. Attach required documents: Attach a curriculum vitae listing academic record, Industrial/Research Experience, Research Publications, academic honors, and awards.


4. Send the application: Send the application to the "Deputy Registrar, Post Graduate Section, IIT, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016".


5. Interview: Appear for an interview, which will test familiarity with basic concepts in Computer Science and ability to analyze and formulate a solution to a problem.


6. Admission: Admissions are synchronized with the semester beginning late July.

The admission criteria for M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi includes:
1. A 4-year B.Tech./B.E. degree in any engineering discipline or a MSc./MCA degree in a computer-science related area with an excellent academic record.
2. A valid GATE score in CS/IT for full-time students.
3. At least one year's experience in an organisation where work is computer Science related for part-time students.
4. The candidate should be working in an industry or organisation involved in computer Science research/teaching and located within 50 kms of IIT.
5. The organisation should certify that it has No Objection to the candidate pursuing this degree.
6. A written test and interview will be conducted to test the candidate's familiarity with basic computer Science subjects and ability to analyze and formulate a solution to a problem.

To get admission to M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi, a candidate must have a 4-year B.Tech./B.E. degree in any engineering discipline or a MSc./MCA degree in a computer-science related area, and have an excellent academic record. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate background in computer Science itself (GATE in CS/IT), or else with extensive experience in computing (for part-time students).

The application form can be downloaded from the IIT Delhi website or collected from the PGS&R Section. A draft for Rs 300 made payable to the "Registrar, IIT Delhi" at New Delhi should be attached to the application. The forms are typically available around the beginning of March.

After applying, candidates will be called for a test and interview. The written test is technical and objective, and will test familiarity with basic computer Science subjects. The normal duration of the Master’s programmes is 4 semesters for full-time students and 6 semesters for part-time students.

It is also possible to switch the programme of study mid-way, and students can convert to the Ph.D. programme or to the MS (Research) programme if they have demonstrated excellence in their academic performance and research potential.

Part-time programmes constitute an opportunity given to working professionals in the NCR area to pursue an advanced degree at IIT Delhi. The part-time programmes are academically identical to the full-time programmes, but the normal duration is 6 semesters instead of 4.

Classes are conducted at the usual times on weekdays.

To get a seat in IIT Delhi for M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering,
1. You need to qualify GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam.
2. You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's degree in relevant Science.
3. You need to apply for admission to IIT Delhi through the official website.
4. You need to meet the cutoff marks set by IIT Delhi for M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering.
5. You will be shortlisted for interview based on your GATE score and other criteria.
6. After the interview, the final merit list will be prepared based on your GATE score, interview performance, and other criteria.
7. If your name is in the final merit list, you will get admission to M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi.
