The college is quite strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of B.Sc. in Nautical Science at IMU Chennai. The requirements include:

• 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects from a recognized board


• Minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCM


• Minimum 50% marks in English subject in 10+2 examination


• Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner


• Maximum age: For Male - 25 years, OBC(NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST - 30 years; For Female - 27 years, OBC(NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST - 32 years.

There is also a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks for SC/ST candidates, but it does not apply to English marks.
