The Adi shankara institute of engineering and technology (ASIET), is a self financing college, situated in kalady, in Ernakulam district of Kerala. The college was started on 31 August 2001 ASIET is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam technological University. Life is good in ASIET, college provides good placements from campus, 100 CSE students got placed, company like TCS, IBMand HCL etc. visits the college for placement. The college has experienced and high qualified faculties, but infrastructure is average. The college has Labs, classroom and library but they are not spacious. It has a friendly and learning environment.

A lot of internships are available both online and offline depending on their caliber and effort given they are provided internships with or without stipend, Final year projects are necessary to be completed by all students in their final year.

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) was not affiliated with UGC in the past year, but now it is registered with UGC, which increases the value of the institute. The infrastructure of KSOU is excellent, and teachers are well educated and have great experience in their own subjects. The fees for the UG and PG programs are low compared to any other recognised institution. This is a good college for middle-class families who can't afford a recognised college or a high-level college.

- It has multiple colleges under it including engineering, management, law, etc.
- JIMS Technical Campus is one of the engineering colleges under Jagannath University offering BTech courses.
