Becoming an actuary is a tough nut to crack but it's worth the effort. There are two examining bodies namely Actuarial Society of India (ASI), Mumbai or the Institute of Actuaries, London. You will have to become a fellow of any one of these organizations to become an actuary. The job profile and the challenges you will face are such that if you beat them then there is every probability of making to the upper management and executive positions.
One of the most wide areas of getting absorbed is the insurance sector but due to increasing needs of the companies to manage their finances, some other non insurance sectors such as employee benefits, health insurance, asset-management, reinsurance, insurance broking houses and consulting companies are also showing increasing interest into hiring actuaries. As I already said cracking this tough nut is worth and I would support this fact by saying that Stipend for an actuarial trainee per month in India is around Rs 25,000 per month. Salary packages may also range from 8 lacs per annum for beginners to around 40 lacs per annum for those in senior positions.

You should also learn to manage time to complete the two sessions within 2 hours each. Since there is negative marking, candidates should take care not to guess the answers.You can follow the elimination method for answering doubtful questions. You should also keep in mind the minimum qualifying marks while answering. The required number of questions should be answered by the candidate. A strong base in mathematics can help in clearing the exam. Preparation should be done for each of the four sections.
